Why?
Over 5.6 million adults over the age of 65 are living with Alzheimer's Disease today [1]. If no cure is found, Alzheimer's Disease is projected to affect 13.8 million people by 2050. Futhermore, Alzheimer's Disease is extremely costly to society, with health care and long-term care reaching $290 billion in 2019 alone [1].
According to the Alzheimer’s Association:
"Alzheimer’s disease is thought to begin 20 years or more before symptoms arise, with small changes in the brain that are unnoticeable to the person affected."
With no cure, there is a need for a fast, affordable, and non-invasive device for early screening of Alzheimer's Disease.
Our Product
Our EEG headband is able to acquire signals for early screening of Alzheimer’s Disease. This device is disposable, is quick and easy to administer with a test time of only 5 minutes, and delivers a result within 30 seconds.
Using our proprietary algorithm, our device outputs an assessment of either "healthy" or "at risk". Those "at risk" should seek further testing using more comprehensive validation methods.
